Virtual Flight is a bolt-on to the flying school based at Glasgow International Airport – Leading Edge Flight Training.

As an Approved Training Organisation (ATO) they provide training towards the Private Pilot Licence (PPL). Training is also provided for additional ratings including Night and Instrument ratings. Use of their generic fixed training device is popular particularly with students training towards a Commercial Pilot Licence.

Some of the students have an interest in replica simulators. This started the project of building a replica Boeing 737-800 cockpit.

The 737 simulator is supported by a local specialist, Airliner 1. They supply similar units to the commercial aviation industry. Working with them allows the simulator to be used to attract interest in the flying school.

The flying school is now focussing of some new projects and the future plans for the simulator have been in discussion for a number of months. This has also coincided with the option to add another simulator project, again with the support of Airliner1.

The simulators will now operate separately from the flying school. Virtual Flight will progress to a full-time operation. The 3 simulators will remain at Glasgow International Airport as will the connections to the flying school. This will ensure the depth of knowledge is available to visitors to our simulator.
